Follow The Beat of Your Own Drum

It takes a lot of courage to be the same person on the outside as you are on the inside.

~ Barbara De Angelis

This quote really hit me hard when I realised that it’s very easy to be somebody on the inside, but to actually allow that person to come out and be on the outside as well and be totally transparent really does take a lot of courage.

We can practise what we practise and live our life of whatever our beliefs may be, but if we keep it hidden and hide our light, then are we really serving the world?

It’s wonderful to have that practise and belief, but we need to step out more if we’re going to make any impact on the world.

The big question is – do you walk your talk?

Do you practise what you preach?

On a day to day basis.

It’s very easy to be wise and sage with what people should do and how they should do it.

It’s another matter to actually live it.

I’m not talking about being perfect by any means. At the end of the day, even though we are souls having a human experience, the whole idea is for us to learn from our experiences. To actually incorporate and embody what we are learning and making it practical in our lives. It not only impacts on us but has that ripple effect out onto others and into the world.

This is a process.

This isn’t something where we attain enlightenment overnight. It’s a constant process that we need to work on and this is where you gain an understanding of what your truth is and what your divinity is. You can achieve this through meditation, spending time with yourself and understanding who you are and what it’s all about. Asking questions. Working out how you can embody that in your life.

Like everything else I believe – there is no cookie cutter method, there’s nothing that says, “This is the way that you have to do it. This is the only way. This is the path, let’s go along.”

Everybody has their own path, their own drum that they have to listen to the beat of and follow.

I am a strong believer in you finding your own path and forging your own path ahead. You can have people to support you and guide you, but your path is your path alone. (Click HERE if you’d like coaching support on your journey.)

A lot of this requires awareness. Awareness of your behaviour, where you’re at, what you’re doing, how you react and learning to adjust as you go along, as you learn more about yourself.

The journey is a little bit like peeling an onion. There’s all these layers and as you get in more and more to the core, you can improve and refine who you are.

To create change requires a change in behaviour. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Things aren’t going to change if you keep on doing the same thing, and with the Akashic Record Reading training that I’m doing, she talks about it all being very well knowing what’s causing your problems, and we can do energetic and emotional clearings to heal what has happened in the past, but if you keep going and doing the same actions over and over again, you’re going to reverse any good that has been done and you’re going to have to do the clearing again and again.

You need to start changing your behaviour if you want to see a difference in your life.
