Your One Precious Life

Your one precious life. What are you going to do with this one precious life?

This is around about the time of the year where everybody has started off with good intentions. They’ve set their New Year’s resolutions, they’ve got their goals for what they want to achieve for the year, and it’s right about now, if you signed up for a gym, the gym was very busy in the first couple of weeks and it’s starting to get emptier and emptier. All those people with those good intentions, they’re all starting to fall away now.

But I want to just let you know, it’s not too late. You don’t have to give up, you don’t have to go, “Well I’m already not doing what I set out to be, what I set out to do for the year,” and just go “Well, I’ll have to start again next year.” It’s never too late to make a new start. It’s never too late to create a new beginning or a better ending for how you want your life to be. We can always make a difference in our life.

You don’t need to wait for a new year, a new week, or a new day. The perfect moment is always now. If you want to make a change in your life, now is as good a time as any, to make that change and I would really encourage you not to beat yourself up if you’re not on track with where you thought you would be.

I’m not on track where I thought I would be this year. I had my best intentions of spending the first week in January planning and getting up and running for the year ahead. It didn’t happen that way for me and I’ve just gone with the flow. I’ve taken it slower than what I intended it to be and I’m happy going at the flow that I’m going. Things are happening. I’m making progress. I’m making inroads. I haven’t lost sight of what my goals are for the year and I’m taking little steps everyday towards them. I may not be as far along the road as I had originally intended, but that’s okay, I don’t have to be right there. I’m still in the race. I’m still on track and I’m still staying focused and that is really what counts.

Your one precious life, as I asked in the beginning, what are you going to do with this one precious life because I want to remind you that life is short. Whatever you may think, you never know when your time is going to be up. I don’t say that to be depressing. I say that as a reminder of, if you look back to just last year in 2016, how many celebrities did we lose unexpectedly? How many celebrities did we lose who were still relatively young, and if you realise that it can happen to them that we can lose people at that age, and I’m not just talking celebrities, it’s friends and acquaintance that we know.

I’m grateful for the age that I am because I have friends who haven’t made it this far in life. So realise that we are blessed every day that we have here on earth is a blessing. Not everybody gets that privilege to live another day. I really encourage you to make the most of your every days and to really work towards the kind of the lifestyle that you want. The dream life that you want. It isn’t an impossibility. Do you really even know what your dream life looks like or what your dream life costs? I would encourage you to take the time to find out what it is that you really, really want and then to do a costing and find out what does it really, really cost. More often than not, you don’t have to be earning as much as you think you should be earning to live that kind of lifestyle.

People always dream of the six figure launches, the six figure income, so earning at least 100,000 and then their next goal is becoming a millionaire and they think that that is the goal that they have to reach. That isn’t a goal, that’s just a number. It may be a very nice number, but it isn’t the goal. Money is never the goal. Know what it is that you want because if you’re only going after the money, and you only want to earn a lot of money, there is never going to be enough money that you can earn. You will always be striving to earn more and more and more. Not that that’s bad to want to earn more, but it’s what you want to do with it. What you want to do with your life. That is what you need to take the time out to find and then make a plan.

Now again people when they hear the word planning they go, “Sorry I’m not into planning. It’s too restrictive.” A plan for how you can achieve your goals can actually be incredibly freeing. You have structure in which you can work and you can move forwards, and that structure shouldn’t be made of concrete that it can never be changed, because wherever we are now we can only make decisions based on what we currently know. If we have a goal out here of what we want to achieve, we don’t necessarily know the best way of achieving it but we can start taking steps towards it.

We can make the best decisions that we know towards achieving that and our plan should allow enough flexibility that if an opportunity comes along that is going to help us achieve that goal in an unexpected way, we need to have that flexibility that we can go, “Yes, that’s what I need. That’s going to give me my goal.” We might be looking to take a trip to Japan, we want a holiday in Japan and we do the things, we work on how much it’s going to cost, we start saving towards it, and then we suddenly see a competition that offers a prize for a holiday to Japan. We enter it. We put out the intention to win the competition and maybe we win that competition all expenses paid and we end up in Japan and we didn’t have to do all that savings.

It doesn’t mean don’t take that step, because that money that you put aside for the trip can now go to one of your other goals. But it means that you took a concrete step, you showed that you’re serious about it, and the Universe opened up to what you were looking for and provided you another option for you to get to Japan and realise that dream. When you make your plan, be focused on your outcome of what you want, enjoy the journey on the way because again, that’s where all the fun is. The fun isn’t the final goal. The fun is in the whole journey and the whole experience that you have.

That’s why every moment, every day is to be lived with enjoyment, with happiness, because really who wants to go through life being miserable. Being amongst people whose company you don’t enjoy. Make those changes to creating a life that you can enjoy and that when you’re on your deathbed, that you can actually look back and go, “Wow I did the best that I could.” If you haven’t taken the time this year to work out what you want, I strongly encourage you to do that now. If you have made plans and you feel that you’ve fallen off the bandwagon, jump back on, it’s not too late, it doesn’t matter. It’s going to happen regularly that you’re going to fall off the bandwagon. You need to be able to bring yourself back on track. You need to be able to have that north star. Knowing what you want to achieve that constantly allows you to be focused on it.

I really encourage you to live your dreams. Drop the fear. Be open to learning and to what comes along. If you need any help with this, I have got a free Create a Financially Successful Year webinar that I ran at the end of last year and just because it’s for a financial year, doesn’t mean that you can’t apply the principles now. It’s exactly the same principles whenever you want to do it or I would encourage you to book an introductory call with me and we can go through and talk about what it is that you want to achieve in the year, and see how I can support you.

Work out what is important to you. Work out what emotions you want to feel in this year and what activities allow you to create those emotions and have those emotions, because it those experiences that we have, that create the life that we want.

It’s your time!
